My doctor told me that over 50% of first-trimester miscarriages are due to random chromosomal abnormalities that happen during fertilization. It is rarely due to anything the mother did. Always consult your gynac to run basic tests if you've had multiple losses.
My mother told me to avoid long travels in the third trimester, but I consulted my doctor and she said a short flight is perfectly fine. I trusted my doctor, got the fit-to-fly letter, and had a very smooth trip. Just carry your medical records.
First trimester is tough with work and nausea, so keep it simple. Don't worry about elaborate meals; just eat small, frequent portions of whatever you can digest easily. Carry dry fruits or crackers to office to avoid an empty stomach.
I am currently in my 4th month and my doctor just got my Double Marker and NT scan done to screen for Down syndrome, which is a genetic condition. It’s quite standard but honestly, reading about it online made me so anxious. Did all of you also get these screenings done in your first trimester?
According to my cycle tracker, I tested on day 28 and got a negative, but on day 32 it was positive! So yes, false negatives are very common if you test early. Try tracking your exact ovulation day and test again after 14 days of ovulation.
