Are cold sores common in early pregnancy?

Got this annoying cold sore on my lip just as i found out im pregnant, around 7 weeks. I usually get them when im run down so wondering if pregnancy makes them show up more. Anyone else dealt with this early on?

They can show up more because immunity dips a bit in early pregnancy. I got one too. Keep the area clean, dont touch it too much, and dont put any cream without asking your doctor first.

Actually haan, immunity thodi down hoti hai toh ye aa sakte hai yaar. Bas khud se koi cream mat lagao, doc ko dikha do, woh sahi batayegi.

I get cautious with anything in pregnancy. Cold sores arent unusual but please dont grab any random ointment, some are not advised now. Show it to your doctor and let her decide what's safe for you.

Yeah they can pop up since immunity is lower early on. Ask doc before using any cream.

My gynac said cold sores can appear or flare in pregnancy since the immune system is a little lower. She told me not to use any antiviral cream on my own and to come to her for the right treatment if needed. So dont self medicate, just check with your doc.
