My MIL keeps making drumstick sambar saying its very good for the baby. I like it but having it almost daily now haha. Is it actually good in pregnancy and is daily too much?
Honestly drumstick is cheap, easily available and so nutritious, a win during pregnancy. I added it to dal and sambar often without spending much. Simple healthy food beats fancy expensive stuff any day.
Drumstick is lovely, my amma made murungakkai sambar and the leaves curry for me regularly. It is full of iron and calcium they say. I had it in normal meal amounts and my doctor was fine with it.
Drumstick veg in your sambar or curry is great, lots of nutrients. Just eat it as normal food, dont go overboard with the leaves or any concentrated form. In regular cooking it is totally good.
