My recent blood test showed slightly high ALT and now im worried about my liver. Im 28 weeks and otherwise feeling fine. Is this something that happens commonly in pregnancy? Will discuss with doc next visit.
Honestly I'd never self interpret a liver report in pregnancy. A small rise might be nothing, or it might need monitoring, only the doctor can tell after seeing the full picture. Take it to your gynac soon and ask what it means for you.
When mine were up they didnt ignore it, they ran more tests because raised liver enzymes can sometimes point to issues that need attention in pregnancy. Please show your report to your doctor and follow up, especially if you have itching, nausea or BP changes.
My liver values came up slightly in a routine test and my doctor explained mild changes can happen, but a clear rise is something they look into properly. She repeated the test and checked a few things. So dont panic but definitely let your gynac interpret your report, not google.
I would be googling this at 2am too, I get you. But these numbers really need a doctor to read in context, not us spiralling. Book a quick call or visit with your gynac, get the real answer and save yourself the worry.
