I had an old test kit in my drawer and used it in a hurry, later saw the expiry date was over. Now im not sure if i can trust the result. Are expired ones reliable or should i buy a fresh one?
I wouldn't trust an expired kit at all. If you are missing your period, go buy a new test kit, and if it's still confusing, please consult your gynac for a blood test.
I had the same doubt when I was testing! I was so anxious to know, but my sister told me expired ones are useless. Did anyone else get a false positive on an old test?
I panicked like crazy when I got a negative on an expired test, thinking something was wrong! But then I got a new test and it was positive. Expired ones can definitely give wrong results, so don't worry.
I tried using an old test kit left over from last year and it didn't even show the control line properly. Save yourself the confusion and just get a fresh kit from the chemist.
Expired tests are not reliable because the chemical reagents inside degrade over time. It can easily give a false positive or negative. Just grab a new kit from the local pharmacy for an accurate result.
I remember finding an old kit in my drawer and testing, but it gave a very faint confusing line. It's better to just buy a fresh one. Don't stress over old kits, a new one costs very little and gives peace of mind.
On this beautiful and sometimes stressful journey, we want to be absolutely sure. An expired test can cause unnecessary worry or false hope because the chemicals might not work. Please get a fresh kit, sending you lots of love and prayers.
