Are home ultrasound machine safe during pregnancy?
Saw these small doppler/ultrasound things online and my husband wants to buy one so we can hear the baby at home. Im 18 weeks and just curious but also dont want to do anything that could harm the baby. Has anyone actually used one?
I would skip the home doppler/ultrasound types honestly. The reading can scare u for no reason or give false reassurance. Better to let your gynac do the proper scans, thats what they are trained for.
I almost bought a home doppler bcoz I was so anxious to hear the heartbeat daily. My doctor told me to stop, it just made me panic more when I couldnt find it. Trust the clinic scans na.
Those machines arnt cheap and they dont replace a real scan anyway. I felt the money is better kept aside for the actual hospital scans and tests. Save it na.
My doctor said home dopplers arnt actually dangerous in short use but most people use them wrong and miss the heartbeat, then they panic and rush in for nothing. She said the clinic scans are spaced out for a reason. So I just stuck to the scheduled ones.
Sweetheart, I know the urge to keep checking on baby is strong. But these home gadgets often do more worry than good. Let your doctor handle the scans, you just rest.
