Are intravenous iron infusions safe during pregnancy?
My hb dropped and doctor suggested iron infusion instead of tablets coz tablets are upsetting my stomach. Bit nervous about the IV thing during pregnancy. Anyone took these infusions? how was it for u?
I needed one too because my iron was dangerously low. It was done under the doctors supervision at the hospital, never on my own. So only go for it if your doctor recommends and arranges it properly.
I had very low hemoglobin and my gynac gave me iron infusions in the later months. She said they are considered safe when needed and tablets arent enough. They monitored me during the drip and i felt much better after.
Since i was already under regular follow up, my doctor caught my low iron and suggested an infusion. It helped a lot. Keep up your check ups so they can decide what you actually need.
