I get really thirsty these days and keep reaching for those tetra pack juices. But im wondering if all the sugar and preservatives in them are bad for the baby. Should i switch to fresh juice instead? Anyone else cut these out during pregnancy?
They are not toxic, but they are mostly sugar with little real nutrition. I switched to fresh juice and whole fruits during pregnancy. If you have any sugar concerns, definitely check with your doctor about cutting them down.
Packed juices have a lot of hidden sugar, and that really mattered for me with gestational diabetes. They spike sugar without the fibre of real fruit. Better to have fresh fruit or freshly squeezed juice in moderation honestly.
Honestly those tetra packs are expensive and full of sugar, not worth it. A fresh orange or homemade nimbu pani costs less and is way better. Save the money and skip the packaged ones.
