Found a packet of pine nuts (chilgoza) at home and i love adding them to my food. But im not sure if its on the safe list during pregnancy, im in my second trimester. Has anyone had them without any issue?
They are safe but honestly chilgoza is pricey. A few are enough, no need to splurge. Almonds and walnuts give similar benefit if budget is tight, all fine in pregnancy in small amounts.
Beta chilgoza is considered good for strength, we used to have it in winters. Eat just a few, it is heaty and rich. Soak or have with warm milk if it feels heavy.
Yes pine nuts, chilgoza, are safe in pregnancy. They are nutritious, good fats and protein. Just a small handful, they are quite rich. I had them in winter mixed with other dry fruits.
Pine nuts are a nice source of healthy fat and I added a few to my salads. My gynac was fine with all nuts in moderation. Just watch the portion since they are calorie dense.
