My home strip showed faint line so doc asked for a blood test and it came positive. But im still a little nervous, can a blood test ever give wrong result? Just want to be sure before i tell everyone.
My doctor explained the blood test detects hCG much earlier and more accurately than urine strips. She said it's close to 99 percent when done at the right time. Still she does a scan later to confirm everything is fine, so blood test alone isnt the full picture.
It is very reliable beta, much better than the cheap strips. Just remember timing and a proper lab matter. Trust ur doctor's word over any percentage you read online.
Blood test (beta hCG) is way more reliable than the home strip, my gynac always trusts that one. But no test is exactly 100 percent, timing matters. If u tested too early result can change, so go by what doc says.
I'd say very accurate but not absolute. In my case numbers were a bit confusing early on and only the doctor could read them properly with a repeat test. Pls just let ur gynac interpret it, dont google the numbers and panic like I did.
I had the same doubt actually. I felt like asking the lab is it sure or not haha. But my gynac said blood test is dependable, just dont test super early. Anyone else got a clear positive blood test? made me feel better.
