My digestion has been off and a friend suggested probiotics. Im 5 months along and not sure if i should just start them. Anyone took probiotics during pregnancy, did it help?
Before spending on probiotics, first see if your doctor recommends them. Some prenatal vitamins already include beneficial bacteria. If you need them, your doctor might prescribe a specific one. It's better to stick to what the doctor advises than buy expensive supplements that might not be necessary or suitable. Cost-effective choices are important.
Beta, accha paachan (digestion) toh bahut zaroori hai pregnancy mein. Dahi, chhachh (buttermilk) aur ghar ka bana khana sabse achcha hai pet ke liye. Lekin agar tum koi khaas probiotic dawai lene ki soch rahi ho, toh apni doctor se zaroor pooch lena. Woh hi bata payenge ki woh tumhare liye theek hai ya nahi. Apne mann se kuch mat lena.
Having a history of PCOS, I was always extra careful about what I took during pregnancy. Probiotics *can* be beneficial for gut health, which is important, but whether a specific brand or type is safe for *your* pregnancy should only be decided by your gynaecologist. Please don't start any supplements without their explicit advice, as every body is different.
My pregnancy app actually had a section on this! It mentioned that some studies suggest probiotics can help with digestion and even reduce the risk of certain complications. But it also clearly stated that you should *always* consult your doctor before starting any new supplement, including probiotics. They can recommend a safe and effective type for you.
