My MIL keeps saying til is heat for the body and i should completely avoid it now that im pregnant. But i love til laddoos yaar. Is there really any harm in early months?
In our homes til is mostly avoided in the early months, elders believe it can cause heat. Later in pregnancy people do use it in small amounts in food. But every body is different, so just ask your doctor if you're unsure in early days.
There's a lot of old talk about sesame in early pregnancy but a small amount in your regular food is generally fine for most. If you specifically want to eat a lot of it, just run it by your gynac once.
At home we add til in many dishes and my mother in law was relaxed about it later in pregnancy. First trimester she preferred I keep it light. I just followed what my doctor was okay with and didn't stress.
I was careful about everything I ate because of my sugar levels. Sesame in normal cooking amounts was never an issue, but anything in big quantity I always asked my doctor first. Better to check than worry.
