I started snacking on a small bowl of sunflower seeds in the evenings coz im trying to cut down on namkeen. Now mil is saying seeds are too garam for pregnancy. is that even a thing? second trimester btw.
Yes I snack on them, my dietician actually suggested a small handful as a healthy munch instead of chips. Good for that mid morning hunger. Just dont go overboard, they are oily if u eat a lot.
They are cheap and easy to keep in your bag for when hunger hits suddenly. Better than buying packaged junk honestly. Plain unsalted ones are best, the heavily salted packets have too much sodium.
Good source of healthy fat and they say folate too. Just a small portion daily is enough, no need to eat a whole bowl. Keep variety with other nuts and seeds and u r good.
We have always had seeds at home and amma used to mix sunflower and pumpkin seeds. In moderation totally fine na. But if u have any allergy or special diet thing, just confirm once with your doctor.
