The acidity has been killing me lately, second trimester here. My friend in the US keeps mentioning tums for heartburn and i wondered if its safe to take in pregnancy. Has anyone here used it?
My heartburn was awful and the doctor okayed an antacid for me which helped a lot. Alongside that, small meals and not lying down after eating made a real difference. Do ask your doc before relying on tablets.
Calcium based antacids are often considered okay in pregnancy but please confirm with your gynac before regular use. Mine approved a specific one for my heartburn. Dont just pop them daily without asking.
Many doctors do allow calcium antacids for heartburn in pregnancy, but the right answer is to ask your own gynac since brands and your situation vary. Mine told me which one and how often. Better to check than assume.
