Acidity is killing me at night, cant even lie down properly. Someone gave me tums but im scared to take anything without knowing. Im 26 weeks. Has anyone used these during pregnancy?
I cant really advise on medicines, but i can say i struggled a lot with heartburn. What helped me was small frequent meals, not lying down right after eating, and a bit of cold milk. For the antacid part please ask your doctor.
Tums is basically calcium carbonate antacid and my doctor said it is generally considered okay for occasional heartburn in pregnancy, taken as directed. But she told me not to take it constantly or near my iron tablets. So run it by your gynac for your dose.
Yaar that burning is the worst actually. Tums type calcium antacids are mostly considered safe for once in a while, but i would still confirm with my gynac before making it a habit. Mine okayed a specific one for me.
Acidity in pregnancy is brutal, i know. Calcium based antacids like Tums are usually fine occasionally, but dont pop them all day. If you are needing it daily, tell your doctor, she may suggest something better.
