We have a family function out of town next month and ill be around 5 months then. Its roughly a 6 hour journey by road. Is it safe to travel at this stage or should i avoid it? anyone travelled around this time?
Mostly yes at 5 months, but since every pregnancy is different please run it by your gynac, especially if you've had any spotting or BP issues. Mine had complications so I was advised to limit travel. Get personalised advice rather than a general yes.
I travelled for work at 5 months, totally manageable. Wear comfy clothes, keep snacks and water, walk every couple of hours, and pick an aisle seat for easy bathroom access. Just check with your gynac before booking anything long.
My doctor cleared me to travel in the second trimester, she just said keep moving my legs on long trips to avoid clots, carry my reports, and avoid very bumpy or super long journeys if possible. As long as your pregnancy is uncomplicated it's generally fine, but do confirm with your own doctor first.
5 months is actually considered one of the better times to travel, second trimester, energy is back and morning sickness usually gone. Just get a quick okay from your gynac, take breaks to stretch on long journeys and stay hydrated. I travelled fine around then both times.
