This is a little personal but i have a first appointment coming up with a new gynac. There are some things from my past i havent told my husband about. Can the doctor actually tell during a checkup if youve been pregnant before? a bit anxious tbh.
In many cases yes, my gynac mentioned there can be certain signs on examination, like changes to the cervix, that hint at a previous pregnancy or delivery. But its not always exact. Usually they just ask you directly in your history and its better to be honest with them anyway.
Sometimes there can be physical indications, but its not a guaranteed thing they can read perfectly. Mostly they rely on what you tell them in your medical history. Whatever the situation, your doctor is bound to keep it confidential.
I can only share what happened with me, at my first visit the doctor simply asked about my history and I told her. She didnt make a big deal of examining for past pregnancy. Whatever your reason, being open with your gynac just helps them care for you better.
Sometimes a doctor may notice signs, but honestly they are not there to judge you. Whatever has happened in the past, just share it openly so they can take good care of you. Your information stays private with them.
