Can a high white blood cell count indicate pregnancy?
Got a routine blood test done and my WBC was a bit on the higher side. Im also a few days late this month so my mind is going everywhere. Just curious if anyone here had high WBC turn out to be early pregnancy?
WBC going up can happen in pregnancy but it also goes up with any infection, so its not a confirm sign on its own. When mine was high my doctor checked for infection first before saying anything. Please dont read your report alone, show it to your gynac.
Haan WBC thoda upar ja sakta hai in pregnancy, but it can also be just a cold or some infection na. Better do the actual pregnancy test, that will give you clear answer.
I asked this exact thing because my CBC showed high WBC. My doc said in early pregnancy WBC can mildly rise but its non specific, so they never use it to diagnose. She told me to just do a beta hCG if I suspected pregnancy.
A raised WBC is not a pregnancy test. The actual confirmation comes from hCG, either the urine strip or blood beta hCG. Best to get a proper test done rather than guessing from a blood count.
