i had a routine blood test done at office health checkup last week and now im wondering if pregnancy would even show up in that kind of normal report. or do they do a separate test for it? thoda confused about how this works.
A regular routine blood test wont specifically tell pregnancy, you need a beta hcg blood test for that. Its a simple one, doctor just writes beta hcg. It can detect even before a urine test sometimes, quite accurate.
Not a normal CBC type test, no. You need the hcg blood test, thats the one for pregnancy. Its more accurate than the home strip and shows up earlier too. Just ask the lab for beta hcg.
Wait so the normal CBC i did last week wouldnt show it? I think I need that special hcg one then. Going to ask the lab tomorrow, thanks for clearing this.
The beta hcg blood test is the one that confirms pregnancy, costs around few hundred rupees at most labs. A general blood test wont show it. I did the home test first then got blood test to be sure, saved money that way.
