Test came positive and my dates show around 5 weeks. Gynac told me to come for a scan but im wondering will it even show anything this early or should i wait a bit more? Dont want to go and come back empty handed.
When I went at 5 weeks, the normal scan showed absolutely nothing and I was so scared. But my doctor did an internal TVS scan and we saw a tiny dot! Don't worry, it's just too early right now.
I just had my baby and remember my 5-week scan vividly. The abdominal scan was empty but the transvaginal one showed a tiny gestational sac of 5mm! It's completely normal to not see anything on a regular stomach scan so early.
I had a scare early on, so please be careful. If you are having any cramping or spotting, a 5-week scan is very important to rule out ectopic pregnancy. But normal scan won't show much, you will need a transvaginal scan, so please consult your doctor immediately.
Haha, expecting to see a baby at 5 weeks is like looking for a poppy seed in a giant bowl of kheer! A normal scan will just show black screen, so don't freak out. Wait for a few weeks and you'll see your little bean!
I am currently planning and reading up on early scans. It's so interesting that a normal belly scan doesn't work so early but a TVS scan can. Do doctors usually recommend waiting till 7-8 weeks for the first scan?
Oh, those first few weeks are so filled with anxiety and hope, I remember crying before my first scan. At 5 weeks, a normal scan often shows nothing and it can break your heart, but it's just because the baby is so tiny. Sending you big hugs and hoping for a beautiful journey ahead.
Ugh, at 5 weeks my stomach was just full of gas, so the normal scan couldn't see anything through the layers! Honestly, save yourself the trip and wait till week 7 or 8 unless your doctor asks for an internal scan. Currently in my 3rd trimester and wishing my belly was back to that tiny dot stage!
Haan na, 5 weeks toh bohot hi early hota hai stomach scan ke liye. But TVS scan se chota sa gestational sac dikh sakta hai. Tension mat lo, thode din baad scan karoge toh sab clear dikhega.
For safety, always ask your gynac which scan is right for you. At 5 weeks, a normal abdominal scan might miss details, so doctors usually prefer an internal TVS scan. Never skip your doctor's advice on these early scans.
According to my pregnancy tracker app, the embryo is only the size of an apple seed at 5 weeks! So a transabdominal scan usually can't catch it. If you need confirmation, ask for a TVS (internal) scan or wait a couple of weeks.
