I have a pap smear scheduled next week and theres a chance i might be in very early pregnancy. Wondering if the test will pick that up or its totally unrelated. Anyone know?
No, a pap smear is for cervical cell screening, it does not detect pregnancy. For pregnancy you need a urine or blood test. They are completely different tests, dont mix them up.
Pap smear wont tell you if you are pregnant. Just pick up a home test kit, that is the right one. If positive, then go to the gynac to confirm with blood test.
They serve totally different purposes, pap is for cervical health, not pregnancy. A simple HCG urine test is what detects pregnancy. If in doubt, your doctor can do a blood test which is the most accurate.
