My period is a week late and the strip showed positive, doc has asked me to come for a scan. Im only around 5 weeks i think, will it actually show anything this early? Bit anxious about the visit.
It can, but please let the doctor decide when to scan. In my case they did blood tests first and scanned a bit later to confirm everything was in the right place. Trust your gynac's timing rather than rushing for an early scan yourself.
My gynac said a normal abdominal scan may not catch it very early, but a transvaginal pelvic scan can detect pregnancy around 5 to 6 weeks. Before that the blood test is more reliable. So timing matters a lot for the scan to show anything.
