Can a pregnancy test be wrong if it says negative?

Took a test this morning and it showed one line but my period is already 5 days late and im having all the symptoms. Now im so confused. Has anyone got a negative and still turned out pregnant later?

Mere saath aisa hua tha, pehle negative aaya phir 3 din baad positive! Main ekdum confuse ho gayi thi. Kya aur kisi ke saath bhi early test pe negative aaya tha?

Itna pareshan mat ho. Negative aaya hai matlab abhi shayad jaldi hai ya hormone kam hai. Period na aaye to 5-6 din ruk ke phir se kar lena, aur fir bhi doubt ho to blood test karwa lo.

Haan false negative bilkul ho sakta hai, mostly jab bahut jaldi test kar lo. Hcg kam hota hai shuru mein. Period miss hone ke 4-5 din baad subah ke first urine se test karo, zyada accurate aata hai.

Meri gynac ne bola tha ki agar test jaldi kar lo to hcg detect nahi hota aur negative dikhata hai. Bola tha morning urine use karo aur agar period nahi aaye to 1 week baad repeat karo. Pakka confirm karna ho to blood test (beta hcg) sabse sahi hota hai.
