I have a cold sore flare and my old prescription had acyclovir. Since I am pregnant now, I am scared to use it without asking. Did any gynac prescribe this during pregnancy?
I wouldnt comment on this one honestly, its a prescription medicine. I always let my doctor decide every medicine during pregnancy. Please ask your gynac, they will tell u clearly.
This is strictly a doctor decision yaar. There are situations where its given, but only your gynac can judge based on your condition. Dont take it just because someone said its okay.
Doctors do prescribe it in pregnancy in certain cases when its needed, but it should only be on the doctor's call, not on your own. They weigh the need carefully. Please dont start it without a prescription.
From what I understand it can be used under medical supervision when the benefit outweighs the risk, but thats entirely your doctor's judgement. Have a proper consult before anything.
