My hb came low in last report and doc said im anemic. Im a bit worried honestly, will it affect the baby in any way? Pls share if anyone went through this.
The hb blood test is quite cheap and most government and small labs do it. Iron tablets and foods like dates and spinach aren't expensive either. Better to catch and treat it early than face problems later.
I won't claim to be an expert, but my hb was on the lower side and the doctor handled it properly. The main thing is regular follow up and not skipping the iron they prescribe. Please go by what your gynac advises for your case.
I had low hemoglobin in my second trimester and my doctor took it seriously, so please don't ignore it. With proper iron and diet it got managed well and baby was fine. Just stay regular with your gynac and your tests.
Beta in our time we ate a lot of palak, beetroot and dates for blood. These home foods help along with the doctor's medicine, not instead of it. Take your iron properly also na, don't skip it.
My doctor said mild anemia is very common and manageable, but if it stays untreated it can cause tiredness and other risks, so they monitor it closely. She put me on iron and asked me to eat green veggies, dates and jaggery. The hemoglobin improved in a few weeks.
