Can anteverted uterus become retroverted in pregnancy?
My doctor mentioned I have an anteverted uterus. I'm wondering, as the pregnancy progresses and the uterus grows, can an anteverted uterus change its position and become retroverted during pregnancy? Has anyone experienced this?
Beta, during pregnancy the uterus naturally grows and shifts upwards as the baby gets bigger. You don't need to worry about its shape or position right now, just focus on resting well. Eat warm, freshly cooked home food and avoid lifting heavy things, everything will fall into place.
I am not a doctor so I can't give medical reasons, but I had an anteverted uterus and my pregnancy went completely smooth without any position changes. If you are feeling any discomfort, it is always best to discuss it directly with your gynac.
With my PCOS history, I used to over-analyze every single line on my ultrasound reports and panic. My doctor gently told me that anteverted is just a normal variation and during pregnancy it naturally shifts up. Try not to stress about these terms, stay positive and keep your doctor updated.
I remember having the same question when I saw 'anteverted' on my scan report years ago! Once your pregnancy progresses, the uterus grows out of the pelvis anyway, so these positions don't even matter after a point. My toddler is 2 now and all that worry seems so silly in hindsight, so just relax.
Honestly, an anteverted uterus is the most common and normal position, and during pregnancy, it just expands upwards anyway. It doesn't randomly become retroverted. Just trust your scans and don't overanalyze the medical terminology.
I am currently planning my pregnancy and have an anteverted uterus too, so I was searching about this recently! From what I understand, it's the most normal position to conceive. It's so interesting to learn how the body adapts, hope you have a smooth journey!
Oh god, at 34 weeks, my uterus feels like it's taking over my entire body, let alone tilting! Honestly, once the baby gets big, the uterus just goes wherever it wants to fit the kickboxer inside. Don't worry about the medical terms, just enjoy sleeping while you still can!
Haan, starting me hum reports dekh kar kitna tension le lete hain na! Actually, as the baby grows, the uterus naturally straightens up and moves forward. No need to stress about anteverted or retroverted, your body knows how to make space for the baby.
I had GD and had to be super careful with my diet and regular checkups. From what my doctor mentioned, uterus position changes naturally as it grows and doesn't affect your pregnancy at all. Just keep up with your regular appointments and follow your doctor's advice carefully.
My mother used to say that our bodies are designed beautifully to adapt to pregnancy. My doctor also explained that the uterus naturally rises up around the 12th week, so its starting tilt doesn't cause any issues. Always trust what your doctor says on this, they know best.
