I have a bad throat infection and someone at home suggested this medicine. But im 2 months pregnant so im scared to take anything without asking. Will check with my gynac but wanted to know if anyone had it during pregnancy?
Don't become your own doctor, yaar! Pregnancy hormones are already playing games, let's not add random antibiotics to the mix. Just give a quick call to your gynac and they will tell you what is safe.
Even when I had a bad cold, I avoided taking any random medicine and stuck to hot water steam. I only do light walking now since my doctor allowed it, so I prefer keeping everything natural unless my gynac prescribes a medicine.
Oh god, please put that strip down and call your gynac! I can barely remember my own name because of no sleep, but I definitely know we shouldn't pop pills randomly now, haha. Better safe than sorry!
In my experience, doctors are very selective about antibiotics during pregnancy and lactation. I was once prescribed a specific dose for a throat infection, but only after my doctor checked my history. Please ask your doctor first before taking it.
Since I have PCOS, I've always been extremely careful about taking any tablets. Please do not take Azithromycin or any antibiotic without your gynac specifically prescribing it. Self-medication can be risky during pregnancy.
For mild cough or throat pain, try warm turmeric milk or steam inhalation. But if it's a serious infection needing Azithromycin, please do not self-treat. Only your doctor can tell if you actually need it and prescribe the safe dose.
