My MIL made ballar dal yesterday and i ate a little but then started wondering if its ok in pregnancy. Im in my second trimester. Anyone else eating this normally na?
I was always so scared of eating anything heavy. Ballar dal is fine but please make it light and don't eat too much. Always cook it very well with a bit of hing to avoid gas.
When I was with mummy, she used to make it but with lots of garlic and hing. It is safe, but ghar pe sab bolte the to not eat heavy dals at night. Have it in lunch time.
Actually it's a great source of protein, but can be a bit heavy. I used to have it in small portions and then go for a light 15-min walk which my doc allowed. Really helps with digestion.
Yaar, I literally ate everything when I was pregnant! Ballar dal is totally fine but watch out for the gas, haha. Trust me, you don't want bloating when you already feel like a balloon.
Honestly I had it a few times during my second trimester and had no issues. Just made sure it was boiled properly. But everyone's body is different, so see how it suits you.
