Can bike drivng cause any problems during pregnancy?
I use my scooty daily for office and the roads here are full of bumps. Now that im in 2nd trimester im scared if all this jerking is safe. Is anyone still riding, or did u stop? Thoda confused.
Honestly, public transport or a car is much better, but I know sometimes we don't have a choice in daily commute. If you must go on a bike, drive very slowly, avoid routes with bad roads, and wear comfortable flats. Don't take any risks during the busy rush hours.
My mother-in-law was completely against me sitting on a bike, and when I asked my doctor, she also agreed that the jerks on the road are not safe. I followed their advice and avoided two-wheelers entirely. Trusting your doctor's word will give you complete peace of mind.
My doctor strictly told me to avoid driving or sitting on a bike after the first trimester. Research shows that sudden speed breakers and potholes can cause placental abruption or early labor. It's much safer to use an auto or car if you have to travel.
Riding a bike on our Indian roads with a pregnant belly is like riding a roller coaster! I completely stopped it because balancing with two babies inside was impossible anyway. Save yourself the stress and choose a four-wheeler if you can.
Looking back, I realize how much I used to worry about daily travel. I did travel occasionally on a scooty very slowly in my early months, but later shifted to cabs for safety. It's just a matter of a few months, so try to take the safer option.
Having faced some early complications myself, I would highly advise against riding or driving a two-wheeler, especially on our Indian bumpy roads. The sudden jerks can be very risky. Please consult your doctor before making any travel decisions.
Try to walk or use safer public transport like the metro if possible instead of riding a bike. But if you have no other option and experience any cramping or pain after a ride, please contact your gynac immediately. Always prioritize safety over convenience.
