My urine test at home was faint positive but blood test report has confused me. I am going to show it to my gynac, but waiting is making me anxious. Has anyone had mismatch between home kit and blood test?
From what I read and what my doctor confirmed, the quantitative blood test catches even small hCG levels, so errors are uncommon. The main thing that throws it off is testing too early. If you tested at the right time, you can pretty much rely on it.
Blood test (beta hCG) is way more accurate than urine strips, my doc told me false results are very rare with it. It can be misleading only if done super early or if levels are still climbing, so they sometimes repeat it after 48 hrs to see the rise. Mostly you can trust it.
Blood test is the gold standard honestly. Wrong result chances are very low compared to home kits. If your number is borderline they just retest in 2 days to check if its doubling, thats normal.
I was so anxious about this same thing, kept thinking what if the lab made a mistake. But my gynac reassured me blood tests are very reliable. Did anyone else here get a repeat test done just for peace of mind? They did mine twice and both matched.
My amma kept saying just do the lab test, dont believe the strip, and she was right. Blood tests are quite accurate. If you have any doubt about the number, just ask your doctor to explain or repeat it, they wont mind.
