My MIL made bharta yesterday and then said baingan is not good in pregnancy, now im confused. We eat it so often at home na. Is there really anything to worry about or is it just one of those old sayings?
Haan you can eat brinjal in normal cooked quantity, we make it all the time at home. My amma just said dont overdo it daily. If you have any acidity or allergy then go easy, otherwise its fine.
My MIL used to say avoid too much brinjal, more of an old belief. Doctor told me cooked brinjal in moderate amount is totally okay. So I just kept it once in a while, no problem.
I think its fine in normal portions but everyone is different. If you ever notice gas or acidity with it, then reduce. Best to mention your diet doubts to your gynac once just to be sure.
I ate brinjal sabzi through both pregnancies, no issue at all. Just cook it well and dont eat raw or in huge amounts. Like everything, balance is the trick.
