I dont eat much these days due to acidity and my saas keeps telling me to drink complan for strength. Im 5 months. Is it actually safe during pregnancy or should I ask doc first?
Oh, I panicked so much when I had Complan early in my pregnancy because someone online said it is bad! But my doctor said having it occasionally is totally fine, though maternal health drinks are much better. Dont worry at all.
In our house, my saas told me to just drink plain milk with a little kesar or almonds instead of processed powders. Complan is okay sometimes, but it has too much sugar, so maybe ask your gynac for a proper mother's protein powder instead.
Honestly, Complan is mostly for growing kids and has a lot of sugar. A cheaper and healthier solution is to just add a spoonful of homemade sattu or dry fruit powder to your warm milk. It is much more nourishing and pocket-friendly.
Complan is quite expensive and not even formulated for pregnant women. Instead of buying these kids' drinks, ask your government hospital or local clinic doctor for the free or low-cost maternal protein powders they prescribe. It is much more practical and saves money.
When I was at my parents place, my mom would make fresh badam milk for me every morning instead of these store-bought drinks like Complan. If you really want a powder, just ask your doctor for a pregnancy-specific one, it is much safer.
