My MIL made some cassava dish and i suddenly got confused if its safe now that im pregnant. We eat it sometimes at home. Anyone knows if its fine during pregnancy?
Raw or improperly cooked cassava can actually be toxic, so I wouldn't risk it at all. I try to keep my diet very clean and stick to simple home-cooked meals, along with my daily prenatal yoga that my doc approved.
Please check with your gynac before eating cassava root, as it needs very careful preparation to remove toxins. In pregnancy, we shouldn't take any chances with food safety. Your doctor can guide u best on what to completely avoid.
Unless it is a regular part of your diet and cooked extremely well, it's best to skip it for now. Focus on green veggies, pulses, and fresh fruits instead. A healthy, simple diet is more than enough for a smooth journey.
Haan na, it's better not to eat such rare things in pregnancy. Normal batata or sweet potato khao na, why take risk? Safe rehna hi sabse accha hai abhi.
It is better to avoid it during these months to be safe. There are so many other healthy vegetables you can eat. Just take care of your health and eat simple food.
Honestly, I would suggest staying away from it during pregnancy. It has high starch which can spike your blood sugar levels easily, and raw cassava can sometimes be risky. Better to stick to safe carbs like sweet potatoes.
