Can constipation cause miscarriage in early pregnancy?
Im 7 weeks and constipation is so bad these days. Sometimes i have to push and then i panic ki kahin kuch ho na jaye. is there any real risk or am i overthinking? pls tell me im not the only one scared of this.
No beta, constipation itself does not cause miscarriage, so don't worry. But you should not strain too much in the toilet. Drink warm milk with a little ghee at night, or eat soaked prunes to help clear your stomach naturally.
I had terrible constipation during my first trimester due to progesterone. I was also terrified of hurting the baby, but my doctor reassured me it’s completely safe. Just increase your water intake and eat lots of high-fiber fruits.
My mother suggested having warm water with lemon or eating papaya, but since papaya is avoided in pregnancy, I asked my doctor first. The doctor gave me a safe syrup and told me constipation is just a hormonal side effect, not a threat to the baby.
I had to be very careful with my diet due to gestational diabetes and also had constipation. I avoided sugary juices and instead ate lots of cucumber, salad, and whole grains. It really helped ease the bowel movements without affecting my blood sugar.
Honestly, straining doesn't cause miscarriage because the baby is very secure inside, but it can cause painful piles. Please do not take any over-the-counter laxatives or churnas without asking your gynac first, as some can trigger uterine contractions.
According to all the medical articles on my pregnancy tracker, there is zero link between constipation and miscarriage. Straining might cause hemorrhoids, but not miscarriage. Just track your fiber intake and drink at least 3 liters of water daily.
Oh, I remember crying on the toilet pot thinking I would push the baby out! My toddler is 3 now and perfectly fine. Trust me, the baby is extremely safe in there, just focus on eating green veggies and drinking water.
