Just confused matlab, usually they do ultrasound but i read somewhere about ct scan also. Asking because a cousin had some complication. Anyone know if it is even used for this?
Actually, ultrasound (USG) is the gold standard for detecting an ectopic pregnancy, not a CT scan. CT scans use radiation which isn't ideal during early pregnancy. If you are experiencing any sharp one-sided pain or bleeding, please head to the ER or your gynac immediately.
Please take care and don't take any stress, but do consult your doctor immediately. They will do the right scans to make sure you and the baby are safe. Sending you lots of prayers.
Oh dear, please don't panic but this is something only a doctor can guide you on properly. I know how terrifying it is to worry about ectopic pregnancy, my heart goes out to you. Please call your gynac immediately and get the right scan done under their guidance.
I am not sure about CT scan, but normally doctors do a transvaginal ultrasound for this. Ectopic pregnancy can be very serious, so please don't wait or guess. If you are having severe pain or spotting, directly go to your gynac right now.
Just like I had to be super careful with my diet and tests during gestational diabetes, you have to be very careful with radiology tests during pregnancy. CT scans aren't usually recommended unless absolutely necessary because of radiation. Please ask your obstetrician first, they know what's safest for your baby.
From what I know, doctors usually prefer ultrasound to check the location of the baby because CT scans have radiation. I had a scare early on too and my doctor did a quick scan to confirm everything. Please get in touch with your clinic today itself to be absolutely safe.
Going through early pregnancy anxieties is so tough, especially if there's a risk of ectopic. Usually, doctors track beta hCG levels and do an early ultrasound to find the sac. Please talk to your fertility specialist or gynac right away to get the safest and most accurate test done.
