Can dates be eaten during first trimester of pregnancy?
My mom keeps telling me to eat dates daily but my friend said better avoid in early months. Im only 7 weeks now and confused. Did anyone have dates in first trimester?
Beta dates are very good, full of iron, my generation always ate them in pregnancy. Just dont eat a whole bowl at once because they are very heaty and sugary. 2-3 a day is plenty, soak them in milk for breakfast.
Yes you can eat from first trimester itself, no need to wait. I ate dates whole pregnancy and both my deliveries were fine. Just keep it moderate na, they are high in sugar.
Dates are healthy but please watch the quantity, they spike sugar fast. I had GD so my doc told me to limit to 1-2 only. If your sugar reports are normal you have more freedom but still dont overdo.
Cheap and good source of iron actually, so dates are worth keeping at home. Helps a bit with constipation too which is common early on. Don't go overboard though, balance with other fruits.
My mil gave me dates from the beginning, said it builds strength. They are completely fine in first trimester. Just confirm with your gynac if you have any sugar issue, otherwise enjoy a few daily.
Dates were my go to snack instead of biscuits, good energy and natural sugar. I had like 2 with my morning walk. Better than processed sweets honestly.
