Im in my second trimester and my lower back has been aching, this summer i honestly havent been drinking enough water. Just wondering if the two are connected. Anyone experienced this?
Yes actually, when I didn't drink enough I'd get more cramps and a dull back ache. Dehydration can trigger that. I started keeping a bottle with me everywhere and it helped. But if back pain is severe, get it checked.
It can play a part, but back pain in pregnancy has many causes. What I'd say is dont brush off bad back pain as just dehydration, especially if it comes with tightening or other symptoms, call your gynac to be safe.
Honestly hydration affects a lot, even muscle aches and back. I drink water through the day and do gentle stretches my doctor okayed, that combo keeps my back happy. If pain is sharp though, tell your doc.
I used to panic about every ache. But my doc told me low water can cause cramps and aches, so I just made sure to drink properly. Once I did that a lot of the niggles eased. Try water first and watch how you feel.
