Im completing my third month soon and the doctor mentioned a scan. My MIL says scans are not good and i shouldnt do too many. Is it safe to get the ultrasound at this stage? a bit torn between both.
Yes of course, around the end of the third month is when the NT scan is usually done. It is a routine and important scan. Your gynac will schedule it, totally safe.
My doctor did the NT scan at around 11 to 13 weeks, which falls in the third month. She said it checks the baby growth and some early markers. Ultrasound is safe and recommended at this stage.
I am in my third month now and my gynac has booked a scan this week. So yes it is normal and done routinely. Was a bit nervous but excited to see the baby.
