My double marker results were a bit off and im really scared right now. Waiting for next test. Just wanted to know from others who went through this, what happens next? feeling so anxious.
Unfortunately, it cannot be cured or treated before birth. When I was recovering from my C-section, my doctor explained how developmental support and therapy after birth are what really help these kids lead beautiful lives. For now, just focus on keeping yourself healthy.
I completely understand how overwhelming it is when these thoughts cross your mind. Down syndrome cannot be treated during pregnancy as it is a genetic condition, but there are early tests to check for it. No matter what, please stay strong and talk to a doctor who can guide you with empathy.
As far as I know, there is no medical treatment to cure Down syndrome in the womb since it's chromosomal. For our own physical and mental peace, I feel doing a bit of light yoga or daily walking helps so much, provided your doctor has allowed it. Keep up with your doctor's appointments and keep moving gently!
Honestly, Down syndrome is a genetic thing, so there is no treatment for it during pregnancy itself, even my saas told me that some things are in God's hands. Doctors can only do tests like NIPT or double marker to detect it early. If you have any worries, please discuss the test reports with your family and gynac peacefully.
No way, you can't treat or cure it while the baby is in the womb because it is about chromosomes. Trust me, pregnancy is already so exhausting without worrying about things we can't change. Just get your routine scans done and try to get some sleep while you still can!
