Its peak summer here and i just crave something cold and fizzy after coming home. But everyone gives me that look when i reach for a cold drink. Im 5 months along, is the occasional one okay or is it a strict no? thoda confused.
Soft drinks have caffeine and a lot of sugar, so moderation is key in pregnancy. They're not nutritious. If you have any sugar concerns or it's frequent, mention it to your doctor, but an occasional one is generally okay.
I had to cut these out because of my sugar levels, they're loaded with sugar. Even otherwise it's better to limit them in pregnancy. If you crave something cold, try fresh juice or coconut water instead, much healthier.
Once in a while is okay, don't stress if you had one. Just don't make it a daily thing because of all the sugar and caffeine. I switched to cold buttermilk and honestly liked it more.
An occasional cold drink won't harm, but they're full of sugar and caffeine and zero nutrition. I'd say keep it rare. Coconut water, nimbu pani or chaas are way better when you want something cold and refreshing.
