Before pregnancy, I drank green tea daily for my PCOS, but once I conceived, I became very cautious. Green tea can actually reduce how well your body absorbs folic acid, so it's safer to avoid it or consult your doctor first.
Haan na, we think green tea is safe but it also has caffeine in it. Better to avoid it in the first trimester, and later also limit it to just one cup if you really crave it.
I recently delivered my baby and during my pregnancy, I restricted green tea to just 1 small cup occasionally. It can interfere with folic acid absorption, so don't make it a daily habit.
Please be very careful with green tea because it contains caffeine, which can restrict iron absorption. I had complications during my pregnancy, so my doctor advised me to avoid it completely.
Actually yaar, green tea is healthy but it still has caffeine, which isn't great in high amounts right now. I'd say keep it to max one cup a day or just switch to lemon water or coconut water, much safer!
