My MIL made baingan bharta yesterday and then suddenly said pregnant women shouldnt eat brinjal, I had already eaten 2 spoons. Now im a little confused honestly. Is it actually true or just one of those ghar wale myths? Im in my 2nd trimester.
In our home elders avoid too much baingan in pregnancy, they say it is heaty. But honestly a normal sabzi here and there never harmed anyone. Cook it well, ghar ka khana is best.
Haan baingan is totally fine in normal amounts. I ate sabzi, bharta everything in both pregnancies. Just dont go overboard like eating it daily in huge quantity, balance rakho.
We make brinjal curry at home all the time and I ate it through my pregnancy. Just have it cooked properly, not raw. If u have any acidity issue then keep it light.
Brinjal is a normal veg so no problem mostly. Only thing is how its cooked, avoid the very oily bharta type daily. Plain sabzi is good. If u have any specific condition just confirm with ur doc.
