My MIL keeps saying avoid aloo, it makes baby fat and gives gas. But honestly aloo sabzi is the only thing i can eat without feeling nauseous these days. Is it actually fine to eat or should i cut down?
Potato is fine generally but I'd just say watch the quantity. I had sugar issues in pregnancy and my doctor told me to limit potato and rice together because it spikes sugar. If your reports are normal then no worries, enjoy.
Of course you can eat potato. Its just a normal vegetable, nothing harmful. I ate aloo sabzi through both pregnancies, just dont go overboard with fried stuff like fries daily.
Potato is completely safe in pregnancy, its not on any avoid list. Just keep your overall diet balanced with veggies and protein too. If you have any specific condition like diabetes, then ask your doctor about portions.
