Reading a lot of scary things online and got this doubt in my head. A friend had an ectopic last year and it really frightened me. Just trying to understand it better, pls explain.
No it cannot go full term, an ectopic pregnancy is when it grows outside the uterus and it becomes dangerous if not treated early. This is serious, if u suspect it please see a doctor immediately, don't wait at all.
An ectopic pregnancy unfortunately can't continue safely to nine months, it's outside the uterus and risky. The good thing is early scans usually catch it. If there's any suspicion, an immediate gynac visit is a must, not optional.
My gynac explained an ectopic can't develop normally because there's no space outside the womb, and it can rupture which is a medical emergency. It's caught and managed early through scans. If u r worried about this, get an ultrasound and see ur doctor right away.
No dear, it doesn't continue to full term, it has to be treated early for ur safety. If u or someone is having sharp pain, bleeding or dizziness in early pregnancy, please go to the doctor or hospital quickly.
I've been through pregnancy loss so i'll say this gently, an ectopic can't reach term and it needs prompt care to keep u safe. Please don't take any chances, if there's pain or bleeding go to ur doctor straight away. Sending you strength.
