Can ectopic pregnancy occur if uterus is not there?
This is just a doubt that came in my mind after reading about ectopic. If someone has had hysterectomy and uterus is removed, can ectopic still happen? curious to understand how it works.
Ectopic pregnancy means implantation outside the uterus anyway, but without a uterus, it's virtually impossible unless a partial hysterectomy left ovaries/tubes and a tiny passage. It is extremely rare. If there's any pain or doubt, a gynac visit is a must.
Actually yaar, it's super rare but scientifically possible if ovaries/tubes were left during surgery. But honestly, if you have severe abdominal pain or cramps, please rush to the doc. Don't take any chances with this kind of stuff!
It's a very rare medical anomaly that can happen if the fallopian tubes or ovaries are still present post-hysterectomy. Since ectopic pregnancy is a life-threatening emergency, any severe lower pelvic pain or bleeding should be checked by a gynac immediately.
Technically, if you don't have a uterus (like after a hysterectomy) but your ovaries and tubes are still intact, an extremely rare abdominal ectopic pregnancy can happen. It's a medical emergency, so if anyone is experiencing acute pelvic pain, they need to go to the hospital immediately.
If you don't have a uterus, natural pregnancy can't happen, but very rarely ectopic cases are reported if ovaries are intact. For any severe abdominal pain or unexpected bleeding, please don't wait for home remedies—consult a gynac immediately.
I totally understand why you'd wonder about this, pregnancy is such a mystery. It is incredibly rare, almost impossible, but in some very unique medical cases, a fertilized egg can implant in the abdomen if ovaries are still there. Please take care of your health, sweetie.
