My feet and ankles have swollen up quite a bit this past week, im in third trimester. Some swelling is normal i know but when does it become something to worry about? planning to mention it to my gynac too.
Mostly mild swelling in feet is normal late pregnancy, but pls dont ignore it if it's sudden, in the face or hands, or with headache. That can signal BP issues. I had this and my doc caught it early, so get checked.
My saasu maa said put feet up and reduce salt for swelling, which did ease the everyday puffiness. But for anything sudden she herself told me to call the doctor. So normal swelling ok, sudden one check karao.
Some swelling is super common yaar, especially in the last months, feet puff up by evening. That's usually fine. But sudden or severe swelling u must report to your gynac, because it can mean something more.
My doctor said normal edema in legs and feet is expected, manage with rest and leg elevation. But she warned that swelling with high BP, headache or vision changes needs immediate attention as it could be preeclampsia.
After standing all day my feet would swell, so I kept them up during breaks and it helped. Normal stuff. But I always flagged anything sudden to my doc. Better a quick call than ignoring a warning sign.
