Can gestational diabetes at early pregnancy makes embryo grow slower?
My sugar came slightly high in early bloodwork and now im a bit anxious. at my last scan baby was measuring a few days behind too. is there any link between the two? im going to ask my gynac but wanted some reassurance here.
My doctor said uncontrolled sugar affects baby's growth and they keep a close eye with scans, but how it plays out varies per person. This is really one to ask your own doctor about with your reports, since early findings matter a lot.
When i had GD the bigger worry they watched was the baby growing larger, not slower, but every case is different and growth depends on many things. Please discuss your specific scans with your gynac, they monitor baby's growth closely with sugar issues.
I dont want to say something wrong here as i'm not sure, but with sugar issues the doctors do monitor baby's growth carefully. Definitely bring this up with your gynac, they can explain it for your situation properly.
I wouldnt try to guess this from outside, growth concerns in pregnancy really need your gynac and the scan findings. If you have GD early, they should be tracking the baby anyway. Please raise this exact question at your next visit, sooner if you are worried.
