Can gestational diabetes go away during pregnancy?
I've been diagnosed with gestational diabetes, and I'm trying to understand more about it. Is it possible for gestational diabetes to go away on its own during pregnancy, or will I have it until delivery?
With my PCOS history, I was at high risk for GD and it lasted until my delivery. It usually doesn't go away during the pregnancy itself because the placenta keeps releasing those block-insulin hormones. Keep monitoring your levels closely and stay in touch with your doctor.
Haan na, once the baby comes out, GD goes away for almost everyone, ho na. During pregnancy it won't go away because of placental hormones, but don't worry, it's just a matter of a few months.
Gestational diabetes usually stays until the placenta is delivered, but it can be managed very well with diet and insulin if needed. After my C-section, my blood sugar levels were tested the next day and they had completely returned to normal.
Unfortunately, GD is like an uninvited guest that only leaves once the baby is out! It won't disappear mid-pregnancy, but think of it as a forced healthy diet phase. You can have that big slice of cake right after delivery, hang in there!
It typically doesn't go away during the pregnancy, but it is highly manageable. Please take it very seriously and follow your doctor's diet plan or medication strictly to keep your baby safe. It will go away right after delivery, so stay strong.
I had GD too and was so stressed about it, but it went away immediately after my baby was born. My toddler is 2 now, and I have no diabetes issues. Just manage your diet for a few months, it's temporary.
