My dadi keeps insisting i put a little ghee in my belly button at night saying it helps the baby and dryness. Im 7 months now, is this just an old custom or does it actually do something?
My mother also told me about navel oil and ghee, more for dry skin and lips she said. If it relaxes you, fine na, its harmless. But I never thought of it as helping the pregnancy, that part I leave to my doctor.
I have heard the belly button ghee thing from elders, mostly for soft skin and dry lips. Its harmless if you want to try it for that. But it doesnt affect the baby or pregnancy in any real way, lets be clear.
Beta this is an old practice, some put a little ghee or oil in the navel for dryness and lips. It is harmless for that, but it has nothing to do with helping pregnancy or baby. Dont believe it does any magic, just a soothing thing.
Its a traditional home thing, putting ghee in the navel. No harm in it as a skin thing, but there is no medical benefit for pregnancy. For anything related to baby or health, please go by your doctor not the navel remedy.
