It gets so hot here and i feel weak by afternoon, my mom suggested glucose water to feel better. Is it ok to take during these months or should i avoid? Just want to be safe.
I took glucose water sometimes when I felt weak in summers, no issue for me. Just don't go drinking it all day, it's pure sugar. And if your GTT test wasn't normal, skip it and ask the doctor.
Be a little careful here, I had gestational diabetes so I had to watch sugary glucose drinks. A small amount in heat for energy may be okay for some, but if you have any sugar issue please ask your doctor first. Don't make it a daily habit.
In hot weather a little glucose water for energy is usually fine for most pregnant women. But it's basically sugar, so don't overdo it, and if your sugar levels are being monitored, check with your gynac before taking it regularly.
Occasionally for energy it's generally okay, but the safest answer depends on your sugar reports. Pregnancy raises diabetes risk, so I'd run it by your doctor, especially if you're drinking it often.
